Students across the country have joined forces to put an end to the wasteful uses of plastic disposable water bottles. These containers pose significant threats to the environment and health of those who drink from the plastics.
Recently, the University of Vermont put a program in motion to eliminate the sale of plastic bottled water on campus by 2013, reports Ban The Bottle. While the move to a more sustainable campus has many students pleased, the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) issued a statement arguing that the plan restricts freedom of choice.
While Coca-Cola and bottled water may not be sold on campus, other avenues will be setup to help students get the liquids they need to remain hydrated.
